“The Legacy of Bin Laden” by Immortal Technique

We all have our own beliefs and point of views of what happened on September 11 – May 1. Felipe Andres Coronel also known as Immortal Technique (his stage name) a conscious underground rapper with ground breaking lyrics and an urban activist wrote a skeptical essay which questions, analyzes and explains in detail all the events that surrounds everything we supposedly know about the war, Bin Laden, Bush, Obama, the western World… etc. This is a mind boggling lengthy essay I found on XXL magazine just made me realize all the things I don’t know, and I’ll let you have your own opinion about it.

The link below takes you to the website that its on…

AT&T buys T-Mobile

On march 20th AT&T the second biggest wireless company in the US purchased T-mobile for $39 billion dollars. Due to the merger AT&T became the largest carrier in the Country with more than 130 million subscribers. Verizon comes out second with 94 million subscribers and then Sprint in third place with 53 million. As a T-Mobile customer this scares me because given how the rates are at AT&T, it worries me that they will also spike up the prices for current T-mobile clients. Since my recent transition from overly priced AT&T to decent priced T-mobile I have saved enough money to get two other cell phone plans. Another reason why I’m squinting my eyes at this merger is due to the fact that now only three companies are managing and owning the phone lines in the country. This might even be heading to a monopoly, and smaller providers will not be able to gain enough momentum to last longer or even be successful. On the up and up service for both companies involved is expected to improve tremendously.

Now these ^^^ commercials seen pointless!!

R.I.P. Nate Dogg!

Artist Nathaniel Dwayne Hale aka Nate Dogg died on Tuesday, march 15th in his home in Long Beach due to heart failure and complications of two prior strokes. Nate Dogg was known best for collaborations he did with artists like Ludacris, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and much more. He was also apart of a popular rap group called “213″ with rappers Snoop Dogg and Warren G. Even though someone with great talent has left us, his legacy lives on through his popular songs like “Regulate”, “21 Questions” and “Area Codes”.

I know it’s going to stir up some emotions but…

This is a spoof done by a blogger recently to make some laughs out of how many basketball championship rings Heats player LeBron James has gotten throughout his career. Coincidently it also highlights how absurd the real State Farm commercials really are. I know most of us laugh when they come on T.V. or even sing the little giggle, but thinking critically about media has made me see the commercials in a different light.

In reality if some serious accident like a tree falling on your brand new car, or even someone breaking your window with a baseball occurs not many people will keep calm and collected. Especially if you know how the insurance system works. They don’t specify the ridiculous amount of money you will be paying every month or how long it will take until you get the results you want or need. They don’t state that they have certain conditions that have to be met in order for them to help you out fully. All they are trying to show in these commercials is that they provide a peace of mind, reliability, oh and any unattainable wish!

T-Mobile Commercial

This T-Mobile commercial and similar ones appear on T.V. channels numerous amounts of time a day. I find that most commercials irritate me for many reasons, but this one in particular I cannot watch for even a second.

One reason why I feel so deeply about this is due to the fact that it’s too similar to the infamous “Mac vs. PC” commercials. What ever happened to originality? Just because they made one of the characters an attractive woman and added an extra person it doesn’t make it different in my eyes.

Another reason is how they basically bash on a competing company in order to sell their product. This tactic that is present in many other commercials is banned in most countries around the world. It should be against the law to compare and show the “negatives” of another product, while at the same time you’re beautifying your own product in order to gain profit. I think us “consumers” can make decisions about products on our own Thank you very much!
